September is over and the Club’s Fishing Boards have closed! The various Board winners have been decided, along with our Captain of the Year! Our club’s Annual Awards Banquet will be held October 28th. It will be held at the Fraternal Order of the Police Lodge located at 1 Sawgrass Rd. Jax Beach Fl 32250. Don’t try to find it on the internet, you WILL get LOST! There is a Map and directions at the bottom of the page. Cocktails start at 6:00 PM with Dinner at 7:00 PM The Awards Banquet is open to members and their guest only. We also have the biggest Raffle / Fund Raiser of the year that is supported by the members only! ( BUT . . . You can always join at any time, we always welcome new members! ) This year like last year we will be at the Fraternal Order of the Police Lodge which is a really great place to hold our Banquet. We will be catered by “Moore Fine Foods Inc.” and boy do they have a delicious menu! To just give you the names of the dishes just don’t do it justice, so here is the LONG version:
Baby BLT’s – The perfect cocktail nosh, “killer” crispy apple smoked bacon, organic baby spinach leaves, a slice of tomato and a serious dab of mayo all stacked on a freshly baked oat grain, whole wheat, silver dollar roll.
Natures Own Croissants – Fresh baked croissants gently sliced and filed with a sliver of fresh honeydew, fresh whole blueberries, crumbled goat cheese and drizzled with “bee” fresh honey.
Shrimp Rolls – Southern version of the classic New England lobster roll… Chunks of sweet, succulent gulf shrimp, garden fresh veggies, cilantro, jalapeño, and just a hint of mayo all tucked into a fresh baked croissant.
Fire Grilled Mahi-Mahi Dip – Our slow smoked Mahi-Mahi delicately blended with fresh veggies, spices, herbs and a dollop of mayo served with assorted fine crackers.
Eclectic Dinner Buffet:
Parmesan Romaine Salad – A crispy blend of Romaine and iceberg lettuces, crowned with a garden fresh medley of summer squash, zucchini, bell peppers, and cucumbers. Finished with sliced black olives, and pecorino romano cheese.
Total Potato Decadence Bar – A create your own ultimate mashed potato fantasy. Our famous mashed Idaho’s are zapped with a special blend of spices, garlic, cheese and a self serve selection of fresh baked crumbled bacon, even more butter, sour cream, chives, Romano cheese and cheddar cheese.
Memphis Balsamic Brisket – Slow roasted hand rubbed beef brisket, thinly sliced, topped with balsamic caramelized onions and all of that luscious balsamic beef & onion jus.
Puerco ala Maria – Latin pork roast at it’s very finest, marinated in a fresh citrus mojo, slow roasted and char-finished over an open fire. Our orange ginger chutney knocks this Caribbean caveman delicacy off da’ hook!
Roast Veggie Medley – Mother Nature’s garden fresh combination of veggies, including summer and zucchini squash and onions delicately dusted with a Euro blend of spices and roasted al dente.
Ming’s Chicken Satay – Tender boneless skinless chicken breasts marinated in Island jerk seasoning, grilled over a hot fire, chilled & served with a zapped up orange ginger sauce.
Crostini – Classic Italian bread jazzed up with garlic, extra virgin olive oil, pecorino Romano, and Kosher salt, toasted to crispy perfection.
If after seeing that menu you members haven’t bought your tickets yet, there is something wrong with your taste buds!
As of September 22, 2017, at 0001 Hours all the fishing Boards have been wiped clean and are open to all members to post your catches so that by this time next year YOU could be the winner of one of those beautiful Reels pictured above!
How to get there. – Off Butler Blvd, turn RIGHT onto Marsh Landing Parkway.
Turn RIGHT onto Greensway and go to the Palms Condos, go THROUGH their gate into their parking lot.
Go past the pool and take the first RIGHT .
Now take the first LEFT and follow the “Road” to the FOP Hall – You are there!
