2022 tournament winner Meghan Traylor with her winning
11 Lb 6 oz Sheepshead.
Through the tremendous support of our anglers and sponsors, the El Cheapo has become the “Largest Sheepshead Tournament in the World”!
Over the past several years, the tournament has grown to nearly 2000 visitors at the tournament site with over 400 participating anglers at the 2 day event.
( Anglers meeting and Anglers bucket pickup on Friday evening, and the Tournament on Saturday. ) The Junior Angler Division features over 100 kids participating. The appeal of a fun, family friendly, low cost tournament has created a huge following of participants and supporters.
The El Cheapo is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Jacksonville Offshore Sport Fishing Club, (JOSFC). The money raised from the event will be used for various activities throughout the year that our club facilitates, including artificial reef management, educational, boating, and safety seminars.
The JOSFC is a 501(c)(7) non-profit organization. Portions of the proceeds of this year’s event will be donated to Angelwood, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit that serves children, adults, seniors and families living with intellectual and developmental differences in the Jacksonville area. Angelwood has been serving our community in a big way since 1993.
