GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

The meeting was called to order at 8:10

Don made announcements: Mahi deMayo has been cancelled.

David Garrard tournament, Fishing for the Cure is Saturday May 21

JOSFC May trolling tournament is Sunday May 22

June 2 meeting is the JOSFC Club birthday/past presidents meeting. Menu will be a Low country Boil!

June 10 and 11 is the Jacksonville Rodeo and the Kingbuster

        

June 19 is JOSFC Jr. Angler tournament

June 4 & 5 and June 18 & 19 are license free fishing weekends.

Jimmy from Current Productions attended the meeting, Chris welcomed and thanked him for all his does for the club!

HOSPITALITY

Pot Luck dinner tonight, lots of great food, plenty to eat!

GUEST SPEAKER

Mark from DOA Lures was the speaker.  Mark is from Houston, TX but currently lives in Stuart FL.  He fished in

Galveston TX as a child.  
he has invented a shrimp bait.   The Lures are shot in Jacksonville FL.   
All parts are made in USA, Plastic from NC, Jig head from IL and hooks from Denver CO.  

Mark talked about knots.  He uses a triple surgeon knot – leader to line.  Uses this knot to add bulk to knot  (overhand knot)

Mark said to ultimately fish an outgoing tide.  

He showed a variety of lures and handed some out..  
He likes the Gold Glitter in the wintertime.  
He also likes to use a loop on lure, uses the bowline knot

Mark talked about techniques.  Showed his different shrimp lures and weedless ones.
Snap and Pause technique, gets more bites.  

Mark handed out samples of his lures to everyone and answered questions.
