The 10^th Annual El Cheapo Sheepshead Tournament began Saturday February 27 under somewhat less than perfect cool, rainy, and windy conditions.  By weigh-in time however, the skies cleared and some great catches were brought to the scales by both the Captains and Junior Anglers.

A total of 318 boats fished the tournament; 266 paid entries, and 54 sponsor entries.  84 Junior anglers participated.

115 Captains and 30 junior anglers weighed in nearly 700 pounds of Sheepshead.  The winning captain took home a 2010 G-3 1548 jon boat with a 25 h.p. Yamaha motor valued at over $9,000.00.  The winning Junior took home a beautiful etched glass trophy, a custom rod and reel combo, and a variety of gift certificates.

Proceeds of the event support the Jacksonville Offshore Sport Fishing Club, and it’s endeavors in artificial reef management, fishing and boating education.
